From Awkward to Onstage - Hi, I’m Ty!

Shy? You might think that at first. But put me in front of a camera or on a stage, and I transform.

Acting isn’t just something I do—it’s who I am. It’s my home, my heart, and my absolute obsession. While most people binge-watch movies, I dive into the behind-the-scenes, dissecting performances, learning about actors' experiences, and figuring out exactly how each moment comes to life. If it involves storytelling, scripts, or a set—I’m there.

I thrive on pushing boundaries and taking creative risks, which has led me to some exciting milestones—like being nominated for OnStage 2023 (Sydney’s top HSC Drama performance showcase) for my performance ā€œFinishing Schoolā€ and winning multiple school drama awards.

From live theatre to film, I’m passionate about exploring new characters and growing my skills. Singing, dancing, acting, it’s me and all part of the craft. The mentors who’ve guided me, from my incredible drama teachers to industry professionals like Mark Stolezenburg and Peter Rasmussen, have shaped me into the performer I am today. With each new opportunity, I’m ready to learn, create, and step into the next great story—wherever that may lead.

Lights, Camera, Growth:
My Acting Experience & Training

In 2025, I’m levelling up and learning more, beginning a Bachelor of Creative Arts (Acting) at JMC Academy Brisbane. This comes on the back of an incredible year of growth, graduating with a Diploma of Acting at WAAPA in 2024.

So far, I’ve tackled everything from giants (BFG) to royalty (The King in Frozen Jr.) to overly enthusiastic spelling bee officials (Douglas Panch). But my biggest challenge? Stepping into the boots of Stanley in A Streetcar Named Desire—a role that forced me to throw my own judgments aside and bring a deeply flawed character to life. Pushing me as an actor and helping me discover new character depths and expressions within.

While my roots are in theatre, my sights are set on film and TV—where I can bring stories to life on screen, in person and vocally with the voiceover course I am also completing this year.
